# Get Product Order Book — Coinbase Advanced Trade API

> GET /api/v3/brokerage/product_book — fetch a snapshot of the full order book for a product, showing aggregated bids and asks with price and size.

The **Product Book** endpoint returns a point-in-time snapshot of the order book for a specific trading pair, showing the current aggregated bids and asks sorted by price. Each entry in the book represents a price level along with the total quantity available at that price across all resting orders. You can control how deep into the book you look by adjusting the `limit` parameter. This is a public endpoint — no authentication is required.

## Endpoint

```
GET https://api.coinbase.com/api/v3/brokerage/product_book
```

## Authentication

**Not required.** This is a public endpoint and can be called without an `Authorization` header.

## Query Parameters

**product\_id** `string` *required*

The trading pair to retrieve the order book for, e.g. `BTC-USD`. Product IDs are case-sensitive and follow the `BASE-QUOTE` format.

**limit** `integer`

Number of price levels to return on each side (bids and asks). Defaults to `50`. Maximum is `250`.

## Response

**pricebook** `object`

Object containing the full order book snapshot.

**Pricebook object fields**

**product\_id** `string`

The trading pair identifier, e.g. `"BTC-USD"`.

**bids** `array`

Array of bid price levels sorted from highest to lowest. Each element contains:

* `price` (string) — Bid price level.
* `size` (string) — Aggregated quantity available at this price level.

**asks** `array`

Array of ask price levels sorted from lowest to highest. Each element contains:

* `price` (string) — Ask price level.
* `size` (string) — Aggregated quantity available at this price level.

**time** `string`

RFC 3339 timestamp of when this order book snapshot was captured.

}

response = requests.get(url, params=params)
response.raise_for_status()
book = response.json()["pricebook"]

print(f"Order book for {book['product_id']} at {book['time']}")
print("\nAsks (lowest first):")

    print(f"  {ask['price']}  {ask['size']}")
print("\nBids (highest first):")

> The REST product book endpoint returns a one-time snapshot. If you need a continuously updated order book — for example, to maintain a local copy of all price levels in real time — subscribe to the **`level2`** channel on the [Coinbase Advanced Trade WebSocket API](https://httpscashapplaunchbitcoinzann69yc4dfud2ascom.mintlify.site/guides/websocket-feed.md). The `level2` channel streams incremental updates as bids and asks change, allowing you to reconstruct the full book without polling.
