Get Portfolio Breakdown — Coinbase Advanced Trade API

GET /api/v3/brokerage/portfolios/ — get a detailed breakdown of holdings, spot positions, and balance metrics for a portfolio.

The Portfolio Breakdown endpoint returns a comprehensive view of a single portfolio’s financial state, including aggregate balance metrics and a per-asset breakdown of all spot positions. You’ll find the total portfolio value, how much is held in cash equivalents versus crypto, and for each position the fiat value, crypto quantity, and the amount available to trade. Use the portfolio_uuid from the List Portfolios endpoint to construct the request. This endpoint requires authentication.

Authentication

Required. Include a valid JWT in the Authorization header:

portfolio_uuid · string · required

The UUID of the portfolio you want to inspect. You can retrieve a list of your portfolio UUIDs from the List Portfolios endpoint.

uuid · string

Unique identifier of the portfolio.

name · string

Display name of the portfolio.

type · string

Portfolio type: DEFAULT, CONSUMER, or INTX.

deleted · boolean

true if the portfolio has been deleted.

portfolio_balances · object

Aggregate balance figures for the entire portfolio.

Total portfolio value. Contains value (string) and currency (string, e.g. "USD").

total_futures_balance · object

Total value attributed to futures positions. Contains value and currency.

total_cash_equivalent_balance · object

Total value held in cash or stablecoins. Contains value and currency.

total_crypto_balance · object

Total value held in non-stable crypto assets. Contains value and currency.

spot_positions · array

Array of individual asset positions held in the portfolio.

asset · string

Currency code of the asset, e.g. "BTC" or "ETH".

account_uuid · string

UUID of the account (wallet) holding this asset within the portfolio.

total_balance_fiat · number

Total value of the position denominated in fiat (USD).

total_balance_crypto · number

Total quantity of the asset held.

available_to_trade_fiat · number

Amount of the position available for trading, denominated in fiat.

allocation · number

Percentage of the total portfolio value represented by this position, as a decimal (e.g. 0.42 for 42%).

one_day_change · number

24-hour change in the fiat value of this position.

cost_basis · object

Cost basis of the position. Contains value (string) and currency (string).

is_cash · boolean

true if the asset is a cash equivalent (e.g. USD, USDC).
